nBan / BanBAN
Independent Marking
Banded presents as thick, single stripes across the body of a sudog.
Coverage:
Banded may present anywhere on a sudog's body.
Banded may affect the entire body , as shown in the example above, or appear on one or more specific parts of the body as a few distinct stripes. |
___
Color:
Banded must be darker than the base color or black.
Banded may present with a subtle, two-toned gradient. Banded may present with subtle nuances, or fade into the base coat color. |
___
Allowances:
Banded may have a hard or semi-soft edge.
Banded may orient horizontally, vertically, or a combination of both so long as the individual stripes flow with the body and do not clash with one another. The stripes are always simple, individual lines that will not appear to break or form loops. |
___
Alteration:
Banded does not affect any markings nor the color of the skin where it is present.
Banded may not be affected by other markings, but modifiers like greying, spectrum, and shining (for example) may alter the color of banded. |
___
Notes:
Banded may be layered over or under most non-free markings except for the following: Blotched, Marbled, Bloodmark, Sabino, Somatic, Leopard, Piebald, and Vitiligo. These and most free markings (except for silken) will always cover banded.
Avoid giving banded an “unnatural” shape (such as making the bands too angular, for example), or stripes that don’t flow with the shape of the sudog’s body. Banded may not be presented with "holes" in the stripes or be accompanied by "floaters" that are not attached to the main part of the stripes themselves. Banded should not be made to resemble other striped markings such as Bengal, Striped, Streaked, or Ribbon. |
