Alternant Marking
Sunburn presents as a soft reddening of the topside of a sudog.
Coverage:
Sunburn will only affect the top part of a sudog's body; starting at the spine and moving down over the sides.
Sunburn must cover an area around the size of the head at minimum. |
___
Color:
Sunburn must be picked from one of the sliders below.
If sunburn is presented with speckling, as shown in the example above, the speckles will always be darker than the color of the soft part of the marking. Sunburn may present with a subtle, two-toned gradient. Sunburn may present with subtle nuance. |
___
Allowances:
If sunburn is presented with speckling, the speckles may have a hard or semi-soft edge; but must retain a mostly distinct edge. Texturing is allowed with the speckles.
The soft area of the marking must be fully blended into the base with no distinct edges; though some texture is allowed so long as it remains mostly blended. The speckles present with sunburn will only appear in areas where the soft part of the marking is present.. |
___
Alteration:
Sunbun does not affect the color of the skin where it is present.
Sunburn is a translucent marking and will alter the color of any markings that appear within the area that it is present in by reddening or darkening them slightly. Sunburn may not be affected by other markings, but modifiers like greying, spectrum, and shining (for example) may alter the color of sunburn. |
___
Notes:
Sunburn may be layered over or under most non-free markings except for the following: Blotched, Marbled, Bloodmark, Sabino, Somatic, Leopard, Piebald, and Vitiligo. These and most free markings (except for silken) will always cover sunburn.
Sunburn may not be presented with "holes" in the marking or be accompanied by "floaters" that are not attached to the main part of the marking itself. Sunburn should not be made to resemble other blended markings such as Sunrise, Sunset, Ventral, or Fade. |
