Alternant Marking
Ventral presents as a soft lightening of the underside of a sudog's body,
Coverage:
Ventral will only affect the underside of a sudog's body; starting at the belly and moving up over the sides.
Ventral must cover an area around the size of the head at minimum. |
___
Color:
Ventral must be lighter than the base color, but cannot be white unless it is on a white coat color.
Ventral may present with a subtle, two-toned gradient. Ventral may present with subtle nuances, or fade into the base coat color. |
___
Allowances:
Ventral must be completely blended into the base coat with no distinct edges.
The shape of ventral may vary a bit, but is always relatively simple. |
___
Alteration:
Ventral does not affect the color of the skin where it is present.
Ventral may alter the color of any markings that appear within the area that it is present in by lightening or diluting them slightly. Ventral may not be affected by other markings, but modifiers like greying, spectrum, and shining (for example) may alter the color of ventral. |
___
Notes:
Ventral may be layered over or under most non-free markings except for the following: Blotched, Marbled, Bloodmark, Sabino, Somatic, Leopard, Piebald, and Vitiligo. These and most free markings (except for silken) will always cover ventral.
Ventral may not be presented with "holes" in the marking or be accompanied by "floaters" that are not attached to the main part of the marking itself. Ventral should not be made to resemble other blended markings such as Bleached, Stained, Dorsal, or Fade. |
